Pregnancy yoga class sitting cross-legged

Hello, I'm Riya

I trained in pregnancy yoga after the birth of my first daughter, when I realised how few classes there were nearby. Six years on I've taught over 600 mums and plenty of very sleepy babies.

Classes are relaxed. Leave for the loo, stop for a snack or feed your baby whenever you need to.

  • Specialist pregnancy yoga qualification
  • Postnatal and baby yoga trained
  • Paediatric first aid
  • DBS checked and insured

Questions mums ask

Is pregnancy yoga safe for me?

For most healthy pregnancies, yes. Please check with your midwife or GP before your first class, and tell Riya about any conditions so she can adapt poses for you.

I've never done yoga. Can I still join?

Absolutely. Most mums are complete beginners. Every pose has an easier option using a chair, cushion or wall.

How soon after birth can I start postnatal yoga?

Usually after your six-week check, or after your eight to ten week check following a caesarean. Your GP will confirm.

What if I miss a week?

You can make up a missed class at any other course running that term, space permitting.

What should I bring?

Comfy clothes and water. Mats, bolsters and blankets are provided. For baby classes, bring a blanket and whatever baby needs.

"Riya's breathing techniques got me through a long labour. I've now done postnatal and baby yoga with her too, and made friends for life."

Hannah, mum of Isla
